Preparing Your Child for College
The New Mexico Higher Education
Department is committed to partnerships that serve all New Mexicans and promote
education. The Department understands that preparing for a college education
must begin early, and efforts by the Higher Education Department strive to
educate parents and students on the opportunities available to them. The Higher
Education Department has partnered with the Public Education Department as well
as a number of public and private organizations dedicated to preparing students
for a college education. This section provides links to other community

Planning for College
What should your child be doing to prepare for
college or the workforce? Many things to think about include entrance exams and
preparing for the exams, choosing a career, and specific information on costs
for college. These issues need to be clear before making the right choice to
attend a particular college or university, or enter into the workforce.
